History Continued.....

From the first week getting here, I have done quite a bit with myself. I have been working a lot and accomplishing a lot of goals; developed an education; grew personally into the person I want to be and ultimately, am a much stronger and better person. It is now 2 months left and I am excited to return to USA. Here are some of the highlights from the last 8 months:

- You never know how strong you are, until you get lost in China with your cell phone dead and your wallet stolen....

- Chinese people always have cards that they don't show but they are very friendly and kind to others. They love foreigners (most countries) and enjoy trying to speak with them.

- You don't know how unappreciative you are of the things in your life until you can't come home for 1 year.

-Chinese people eat the strangest foods and are pretty daring but they always have a reason for it. Animal Liver helps our liver; Animal Brain boosts energy to our brain; Turtle is good for digestion (BTW I haven't tried Turtle! I got Turtle and Rabbit confused haha); etc.

- You have a huge and inexpensive chance to learn anything, do anything or remodel the things you don't like about yourself.

- Chinese people all believe in the saying "You Scratch my back; I will scratch yours." They incorporate this into their everyday lives and business practices.

- You find out what you can handle and what you can't.....

- The Chinese culture is one of always keeping "A Face."

- You appreciate the education that was given to you but wonder "How does this 12 year old know all of the cities of Europe?" Cities... not countries.

Anyway, in the last eight months, I was promoted from Manager to Director and I accomplished many things. For example:

- Raising funds
- Creating all curriculums
- Developing the internal operations, including HR and Recruiting
- Teaching kids weekly
- GAINED A HUGE AMOUNT OF PATIENCE
- Manage others and the whole academic system and MUCH MORE

The job and position has been one that has challenged me and taking me to the next level in my career. I am very proud and appreciative of myself for taking this step.

In terms of adventures, I have been to the water city and I .... got this buddhist statue from a thrift store that I found. I named him Bob and all the kids laughed about it. At the Water City, I was told by a fortune teller (or Magic person):
" You have a lot of fire and flower energy" (she said plant but I love flowers) "You are in many           internal conflicts and are a very unique soul, which confuse many people because of that. You can be great or destructive depending on the path that you choose......... You have the fierce passion of Fire and the elegant wisdom of plants (flowers)."

There was much more and other stuff about how fire and plants are opposites and other stuff, but I won't go into too much detail. Yes, this is not 100% accurate and I posted this on Facebook when I first heard it but its all similar.
The next big adventure was all around CHINA with my best friends. They are so amazing and I will go into more detail about that later.

Food is GREAT here! Really I could eat this stuff all day everyday but I am more talking about the vegetables and dumplings haha. I have tried to be daring or brave but it is really hard. YES I GOT RABBIT AND TURTLE CONFUSED... it was a long night.

Anyway, the hardest parts so far was missing the holidays with my family and not being there for my familia in their big events. Otherwise, we are at a two month countdown (WOOOHOOO) and I couldn't be more excited.

Alright, thats it for now, I will post again when I have a chance .... or great internet!

Fire Benders.... or just really good with FIRE!

On my trip around China, I found to places that use fire in a very innovative and exhilarating way. Enjoy this video. Excuse me for any language that might offend anyone but I have never seen anything like these and, if you know me, I was extremely excited!

History Part 2: First Week

..... After seeing the exit, I thought "No I can do this! Keep Moving Forward!" :) SO, I went to China!!!

Also, I made a promise to a manager that I will at least try it for a month :). The Airplane was amazing and awesome :) It was a 32 hour flight and even though it was a long time.... IT FELT LIKE NOTHING! THE FOOD WAS AMAZING ON THE FLIGHT!

I almost missed my flight in Beijing to Hangzhou because I had to carry all of my luggage to the next terminal and it was very heavy. I got to Hangzhou at night and meet Allan at the airport. He was holding up a sign with my name on it... Total Brad Pitt Status!

The First week in Hangzhou:

- Taught some kids, which was pretty cool
- Ate some Authentic Chinese Food (BOMB)
- Got settled with my apartment and new life (for the next year)
- Couldn't stop thinking about home
- Almost got hit by a million of cars
- Realized that Chinese people are friendly with a sense of pure care for one another
- Fell down on the bus all the time
- It was definitely a big Culture Change

There is not much to say about the first week though :)

ALSO HERE IS MY PHOTO-BUCKET ACCOUNT:

History Part 1 - The Hard Part

About a year ago, a friend that I met in one of my past experiences approached me with an offer to help build his center in China. Basically after much thought and deliberation, I accepted!

Fast forward to July 2012, I was going to leave to China in 3 weeks and I was very frightened. A lot of people told me all positive things and "It will be a wonderful experience all around." So For those last few weeks, I wanted to do as much as I possibly can.

I was still at GAP at the time and commuting from Davis to San Francisco Monday through Friday. here was a picture of the the Men's Team:

Anyway, I went all around California to say goodbye to everyone and I had a lot of fun times. I went Sky-diving, which was fun and scary.... it didn't help that my guy who jumped with me liked to mess with me...

To be honest, there was a lot of Great times in that last three weeks but one of the funnest times of my last 3 weeks was my last day of work. Everyone on my team and in the Canada Division are truly the greatest people you could ever meet.  Not only did they throw me an amazing going away celebration but they all pitched in and made me a care package to take to China... It made me cry! ESPECIALLY THE CARDS! ...... Seriously, it made me almost cancel going to China....

Basically after this celebration, I had a weekend left and people in Davis had something for me and then I moved out from my apartment in Davis (funnest apartment or place of stay I have ever had (Besides Bellevue but technically my roommate was in both places) :) ). Then I went home and relaxed for the last few days.

When I got to the Airport, I stopped breathing and about had a panic attack. I remember thinking "What am I doing?", "What if I fail?", "Why am I just going to leave my friends, my job and family for a whole year?".... "CRAP I NEED TO GET OUT OF THIS TERMINAL".... It was over-whelming  and all I could do was listen to sad music and read this amazingly wonderful card that was given to me by the Old Navy Canada Division ... So, I  try to breathe and focus... Then the microphone called everyone to start boarding.... At that moment, I was talking on the phone and looking at the boarding gate... Then I turned and looked at the exit.....

Funniest Joke of the Week

Funniest Joke of the Week Award goes to.....

You are studying Math:

"SCHOOL: 2 + 2 = 4 HOMEWORK: 2 + 4 + 2 = 8 EXAM: Juan has 4 apples, his train is 7 minutes early, calculate the suns mass." From Sarcasm on Twitter!

SOO TRUE though!

Know a funnier one! LET ME KNOW! :)

The History: A Story Told but Not Heard!

THE HISTORY... I know the title sounds AMAZING ;)

So, I am going to start from the beginning of how everything came to be up to the trip I am about to take with my friends. Throughout the story, I will post pictures, links, and videos about stuff I have learned, eat and seen in China.

If you have any questions relating to China or me, feel free to comment away on the blog. If you know me, I am better at answering questions than telling stories.

So our story begins in at OLD NAVY HQ (AN AMAZING PLACE TO WORK WITH INSPIRATION AROUND EVERY CORNER)!! :)

Lets Start.... With my next post hahaha GOT YOU!

Here is a picture though of the team I was working with :')... They were trying to dress like me! THEY LOOK AMAZING... I know!

The Whole Team

"Dreams Come True" when you "Keep Moving Forward"

Very recently, a close friend of mine got into Medical School! He worked very hard and truly deserved to gain admissions to this prestigious Medical school. It was his dream since High School and he always stuck with that dream through the hard times. I couldn't be more happy or proud of him!

Another close friend of mine is finishing his medical school program. He also has always dreamt to be a doctor and did everything to make sure that dream came true. Even when the light was going out, he sacrificed everything to follow his dream. He went across the world to an island for a very long time for Medical School. He is an inspiration to me.

Additional close friend of mine just received a job offer in Engineering in San Francisco, Ca (his dream place he wanted to work recently). Some issues happened with his engineering dream and for some people, they would just give up. NOT MY FRIEND! He continued to apply to jobs and stuck with it. I am ecstatic for him.

These are just three examples of many people having their "Dreams Come True". Most of my friends are stories of inspiration for me to "Keep Moving Forward".

An entrepreneur back in the day wanted to create something wonderful; Something that will be able to make everyone happy... also I am sure he wanted to make money, but we will ignore that. Everyone told him "you are not creative enough" or "it will never happen". Even when his "Project" was failing, he stuck with it and kept moving forward because he had a dream that couldn't be stopped. He said stuff like "Keep Moving Forward" and "Dreams Come True", which people probably rolled their eyes at the time. This man is my idol and his name is .....

Walt Disney: A man who created a place of happiness and creativity; a place that is living proof that dreams can come true.

He made some questionable social decisions and The Walt Disney Company does have a lot of money and Disney Theme Parks are sort of expensive but does that take away the dream that was accomplished? No, it still happened. Do you still watch "The Cartoons, "The Avengers Movie" and go to the theme parks? YES! (Don't Lie)

Walt Disney is my idol not because of his choices, but because of his actions that was a great addition to this world. Disneyland is my favorite place on Earth, not because T.V. tells me so, but because every memory I have going with my father/family was fun and magical. Don't be so cynical and look at what it is meant to be, not what society is trying to show you.

For people who don't believe that Dreams Come True, Did you ever really try to "Keep Moving Forward"? Tianna (the newest Disney princess) was a great example of this because she taught us that Dreams come true with hope and determination. One must work hard and always be focused on the dream (and don't forget about love, friendship, etc.). Yes, it is a cartoon but why does that not make the lessons any less important?

Unfortunately, I understand circumstances of some dreams may not be as possible but I have about 5 different dreams and paths I can take. So, if one doesn't work make a new Dream. Also, in this age of Technology, it is hard for me to believe that Dreams can't come true.

Walt Disney and my friends all have something in common and if you ask any one of my close friends... you will see happiness and dreams coming true. :) (Of course you can't ask Walt because he is either frozen or dead).

A DREAM OF MINE: To get married at Disneyland in front of the castle with my husband. :) ... It WILL HAPPEN!

New Blog and A Dancing Baby

Happy Sunday Everyone!

While waiting waiting for my presentation to start, I thought how I should go about doing this CHALLENGE and write a new post for 90 days. Then, I realized that not many people checked my Tumblr Blog (Poor Tumblr or I am not exciting) and I figured why not give a background of what happened in the last year.

List of Things:

- How this all came to be
- What has been happening
- What I have realized
- Any cool Stories or the food I ate
- .... Anything else that I feel like :)

Some of you probably have heard these things but it might be nice to hear it again.

Some things I wanted to say:

1) I have been HILARIOUS in China!

2) I will be using this Blog a lot more as I really like its style plus I need a place to write.

3) I will not only be posting about me but I will be positing about real events, funny things I find or whatever else I can think of!

4) Just enjoy it and put any comments with questions about China or anything else! I will answer it!

So, yeah thats about it I suppose.....

Without further ado, Here is a Baby name Sam dancing to a song that is very popular...

Quick Note: If you say Gundam style to a room full of Children in China, they ALL will get up and start doing the dance. I have tested it....

The 90 Day Challenge

The 90 Day Challenge... Sounds unoriginal and typical for someone in my situation but I thought it would be cool to do something.

I am in my last 90 days of my adventure to a country that eats Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and LOTS of Vegetables (I am in China FYI).

To everyone that was expecting posts, I apologize for the past but for the next 90 days I will post something new. Be Excited, Be Enthralled ... or just don't care.

I have come to believe that it is not what happens in the past that defines us in the present, it is what we seek in the future that explains the present.

So, Starting today the 90 Day Challenge will begin! Look at me looking ahead to the future!
